733,000 Baby High Chairs Recalled

The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Evenflo Co. announced the voluntary recall of more than 700,000 baby high chairs this week.

The Miamisburg, Ohio-based company makes two high chairs included in the recalls: the Evenflo Envision and the Evenflo Majestic.

There were reports of bumps, bruises and abrasions from children falling out of the chair. Fasteners and metal screws can fall out, allowing the seatback to detach or recline unexpectedly. The hardware is also a choking danger.

Company officials said they received 320 reports of seatback detachments, resulting in more than 40 reported injuries.

The chairs were sold at K-mart, Toys R’ Us, Wal-Mart, Babies R’ Us, and Burlington Coat Factory.
