The FDA has recently ordered the makers of Levaquin (a fluroquinolone antiobitic used to treat lung, sinus, skin, and urinary tract infections) to include a black box warning on the drug after patients using Levaquin reported severe side effects, including tendonitis and tendon ruptures. Unfortunately, patients may not realize they are experiencing such side effects until it is too late.
If you are taking Levaquin you should discuss these possible side effects with your doctor. If you have been taking Levaquin and have experienced pain in your tendons, ligaments or joints, you should consult with your doctor immediately about a possible link between the drug and your symptoms.
