Injected into patients during MRIs to help physicians see the exact size and location of tumors, Gadolinium has been linked to a potentially fatal skin disorder called Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF).
NSF leads to thickened, rough and/or hard skin, which can sometimes lead to limbs becoming difficult or even impossible to move. Other symptoms also include:
- Burning
- Itching
- Swelling
- Headache
- Nausea
- Shortness of breath
- Red or dark patches on the skin
- Yellow spots on the whites of the eyes
- Muscle weakness
If you or a loved one has experienced any of the aforementioned symptoms after undergoing an MRI or MRA with a galodinium-based contrast medium (MRI dye), you should visit your health care provider immediately.
If you have been injured or hurt using Gadolinium, you may be entitled to compensation. Please contact one of our pharmaceutical drug lawyers at Carr & Carr Attorneys.
