Recall: Baby Bassinets by Kolcraft Due To Fall Hazard

About 46,000 baby bassinets have been recalled by Kolcraft Enterprises, working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).  The Tender Vibes & Light Vibes bassinets are a fall hazard because a latch can detach from the frame.  The latch that connects the bassinet’s base to the metal frame can look like it is locked in place but is actually not locked.  This allows the bassinet to become detached from the metal frame, which can cause the bassinet to fall and injure the infant.  The CPSC has received seven reports of latches that detached from the bassinet frame.

A label showing the model or item number of the bassinet is located on the legs of the metal frame.  The words “Kolcraft Tender Vibes” or “Kolcraft Light Vibes” are on a removable music box that is attached to the side of the bassinet.  Model numbers being recalled are:

  • Kolcraft Tender Vibes bassinets – KB021-ARC, KB022-VER, KB039-CMR1
  • Light Vibes bassinet  – KB043-BNT1.
The recalled bassinets were sold from July 2008 through May 2012 for between $50 and $100 online and at retail stores.  They were manufactured in China from July 2008 to May 2010.

Check with the Consumer Product Safety Commission for a current list of recalled cribs.

If you have one of these recalled bassinets, immediately stop using it and find an alternate, safe sleeping place for your infant.  Contact Kolfraft at (888) 624-1908 to receive a repair kit.
