Transcript of Class Action Lawsuits Video:

Hi, my name is Laurie Koller and I’m one of the attorneys here at Carr & Carr.  Today, I want to take a minute to talk to you about class actions.

Many of us get notices in the mail, most recently I’ve got notices in email, about class action settlements and somehow my name’s gotten on the list.  Well, what do you do in that situation?

I would recommend that if the claim form that’s been sent to you is simple to fill out, whether it’s online or on paper, take the five minutes and fill it out and send it in. Usually in these settlements you will get some kind of compensation, whether it’s a gift card to iTunes, which is the one I saw most recently or actual cash in your pocket, it’s worth the five minutes to get your share of the settlement proceeds.

In the larger scheme of things, when people participate in the class action and claim their share, they are helping to change behavior of companies that have done some kind of wrong.

Even if it was only a few cents per customer, when it happens to a million of us, making that claim can change behavior in ways that benefit consumers.

So, the next time you get a claim form in the mail or on your computer, go ahead and spend the five minutes to get the little bit of that settlement that is your due for having had this company done something wrong.

If you have a question about a class action, feel free to call us.  Our toll free number is 1-800-777-4878.  Thank you.
