2 Cares for the Community's 20th annual Food 2 Families kicked off in front of the 2 Works for You studio in Brookside on Nov. 18th.
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma estimates a total of 750 pounds of food were collected on the first day.
Green Country residents can donate non-perishable food items to the Food 2 Families drop-boxes available at all 17 Reasor’s stores until Dec. 15.
The Green Country community helped the Food 2 Families drive break collection records since it started 20 years ago. It is one of the top three food drives benefiting the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Food 2 Families drive 20 families will get a special gift card to purchase a holiday meal.
Sponsors of the program include: Tulsa Welding School, Action Group Staffing, Osage Casino, The Market, Carr & Carr Attorneys at Law, Richardson Richardson Boudreaux and Reasor's.

“The mission of Channel 2 is to make a difference in our community, the place we call home,” said 2 Works For You Vice President and General Manager Amy Calvert.
“That’s why we launched 2 Cares for the Community. We are committed to assist the food bank with their mission of fighting hunger and feeding hope.”
Last year, Food 2 Families brought in 407 pounds of food. This year, the food bank said we collected roughly 750 pounds of food Wednesday or about 625 meals.
