Why Choose Our Personal Injury Lawyers?

Carr & Carr is a top-rated personal injury law firm with an office in Tulsa. We have been fighting for the rights of injured clients since 1973 and believe that you shouldn’t have to deal with ruthless adjusters and a complicated legal system during this difficult time. Compassionate with our clients and relentless during negotiations, we have a strong track record of taking on large corporations and evasive insurers and winning.

Here are some of the many advantages of letting us handle your personal injury claim:

  • We Maximize Your Compensation: We have a proven history of helping our clients increase the value of their injury cases. You can count on us to negotiate until the best possible resolution is reached. If that doesn’t happen, we’ll take your case to trial.
  • We’re Accomplished: Several of our lawyers have been publicly recognized for their extensive experience and competency. They have received awards and been solicited for comment in media outlets like Good Day Tulsa.
  • We’re Experienced: Carr & Carr has been in operation since 1973. This means that we have been providing legal services to injured Tulsa residents for over 50 years.

Our team of trial lawyers works with a wide range of personal injury matters, from car and truck accidents to premises liability, medical malpractice, and dangerous products. The pursuit of justice for accident victims is our utmost priority, which is why we operate on a contingency basis. Until we win, you owe us nothing.

Filing a Personal Injury Lawsuit: The Process

In Oklahoma, you have up to two years to file a personal injury claim, but the sooner you start, the better. Over time, evidence may disappear, witnesses may become inaccessible, or your own memories of the accident could fade.

As soon as a medical examination confirms that you’ve been injured, contact a Tulsa personal injury lawyer who can help you file your claim. Your attorney will review the evidence, ask you questions, and consult with medical and/or vocational experts if necessary before drafting a demand letter that details your claim and the amount of compensation you’re looking for.

In the event that your case cannot be settled, you will have to file a personal injury lawsuit against the responsible parties. There will be a discovery process to investigate the opposition’s claim and defense. Each side has the right to send interrogations or requests for the production of documents and other supporting evidence.

It is important to note that settlement negotiations can continue even after the lawsuit is filed; in fact, the overwhelming majority of personal injury lawsuits are resolved without having to go to trial. However, if the other side does not offer the fair compensation your case deserves, a trial will be necessary. Your lawyer will protect your rights in and out of the courtroom and fight for an outcome that supports your recovery.

How Can the Lawyers at Carr & Carr Help Me?

For decades, injury victims across Oklahoma have trusted Carr & Carr to fight for them and help protect their futures. You may feel nervous if you have never dealt with an attorney before, but we will put your mind at ease from the moment you call or contact us online.

When we connect with you, you can count on us to listen. You’re not just a number: you’re someone who has been injured by another party’s reckless or negligent conduct, so we want to know what happened and how your injuries have affected your life.

We’ll ask you about your injury, diagnosis, and treatment plan. Then we’ll discuss who may be liable. There may be more than one party at fault in some cases: if so, we’ll explain all possible sources of compensation that may be available.

After reviewing any documents you have, such as medical bills, accident reports, and treatment notes, we can work with you to file your claim. Severe injury claims can be complex, but we handle all the hard work. You will be educated on what to expect and kept informed throughout the legal process.

Contact Carr & Carr today if you would like to speak with an experienced personal injury attorney. We can meet you over the phone, via text, via video call, or in person- just let us know what you prefer and we’ll happily accommodate.

How Do I Get Compensation for My Injuries?

When you hire a Tulsa personal injury lawyer, they will prepare a settlement demand and submit it to the insurance company on your behalf. Generally speaking, you can claim compensation for both economic and non-economic damages incurred as a result of the accident. Depending on your unique case, this may include:

  • Past, current, and ongoing medical costs
  • Loss of income
  • Loss of earning ability
  • Rehabilitation costs
  • Prescription medication
  • Pain and suffering
  • Loss of quality of life
  • Loss of consortium
  • Mental anguish
  • Emotional distress
  • Property damage

Your lawyer may also seek punitive damages if a jury decides the party that caused your accident was especially negligent. Oklahoma caps these damages at $100,000, or the amount of your actual damages, whichever is the higher amount.

Can I Still Sue if I Was Partly at Fault?

That depends. Oklahoma is a comparative negligence state that allows you to seek compensation as long as you are no more than 49% at fault for your accident. In this instance, your settlement or award will be reduced in accordance with your degree of fault.

For example, if you are awarded $600,000 in a trucking accident claim and a jury determines that you were 20% at fault, you would receive $480,000, which represents the truck driver’s share of liability.

If you are found to be 50% or more at fault, you cannot recover damages from a negligent party, which is another reason you should pursue your claim with the help of a Tulsa personal injury lawyer. Insurers will look for every opportunity to make your share of blame exceed this threshold, as it absolves them of the need to pay your claim.

Our Team of Tulsa County Lawyers Cares for Our Clients

Car Accident Lawyers

The number of people injured and killed on the roads and highways in and around Tulsa has increased in recent years. According to the city police, in 2021 the city set a record for the number of people dying in car accidents: 69 people were killed, mostly in speeding-related crashes.

Common causes of Tulsa-area auto accidents include:

  • Impaired driving (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol)
  • Distracted driving
  • Speeding
  • Aggressive driving
  • Dangerous conditions like potholes and fallen trees

If you survive a car accident, your health and your life may be permanently affected. Don’t shoulder the burden of a difficult future alone- let Carr & Carr help you access the financial resources and medical care you need. We have gotten successful results for clients in uninsured and underinsured claims in addition to cases involving DUI, distracted driving, and other acts of negligence.

Motorcycle Accident Lawyers

Motorcycles are designed to give their riders a thrilling travel experience, but they don’t offer much protection in the event of a crash. Approximately 2,000 people die in motorcycle accidents in the United States each year while 50,000 more suffer catastrophic injuries like traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and broken bones.

Motorcycle accidents are typically caused by another vehicle failing to yield the right-of-way or observing the motorcyclist on the road. Approximately 70% of motorcycle crashes occur at intersections where visibility is limited. Other contributing factors include:

  • Poor weather conditions
  • Road hazards like debris and potholes
  • Defective bikes or components

At Carr & Carr, we represent motorcyclists who have been injured by others on the road and have recovered millions of dollars in compensation for past clients.

Truck Accident Lawyers

It’s not unusual for truckers to spend long days on the road (and some nights as well). When you drive for hours without taking a break, your concentration is liable to wander. It is for this reason that there are so many semi-truck crashes in Oklahoma every year.

In truck accidents, driver error often plays a large role. There are, however, other factors that can influence or contribute to such accidents.

  • Severe weather and poor road conditions
  • Improper loading or overloading of the truck
  • Poor vehicle maintenance
  • Defective components

If you were seriously injured in a truck accident, our team can help you find justice, regardless of who is at fault. We have access to a wide network of medical professionals, industry experts, and accident reconstruction specialists who can make your claim against the at-fault party as strong as possible.

Pedestrian Accident Lawyers

Pedestrian accidents caused by cars and trucks can have catastrophic and devastating consequences. When a motor vehicle hits you, your life can change in a split second. You may no longer be able to work, enjoy your former daily activities, or even function without assistance. To make matters worse, insurers will aggressively fight claims that involve paraplegia, quadriplegia, or death, as there tends to be a lot of money involved.

It is common for such injury claims to result in a trial. You need legal counsel who has the litigation skills and experience to present a compelling case to a judge or jury. In order to ensure the highest quality of life for our clients, we always strive to obtain maximum compensation for them.

Premises Liability Lawyers

All property owners, including homeowners, landlords, and business owners, are required to keep their premises free of hazards and provide warning signs for known dangers. This is known as a duty of care. Those who are injured on their property may be able to sue when they don’t do their part.

Slips and falls can result in serious injuries. Uneven sidewalks and defective stair railings can cause permanent disability or even death. A leaking gutter on frozen ground may create a slippery surface that causes a victim to fall and suffer a serious back injury. If you have sustained serious injuries on someone else’s property, let Carr & Carr help you determine if the property owner is liable.

Defective Products Lawyers

Manufacturers are obligated to protect the safety of their end users. This is the case whether they manufacture motor vehicles, household appliances, or children’s toys. If consumers who use these products are injured due to defects or failures to warn, these companies are strictly liable.

Carr & Carr has a reputation for holding major corporations responsible for serious and permanent injuries caused by their products. Our product liability attorneys bring technical knowledge, legal expertise, and trial experience to the table to hold manufacturers accountable. By evaluating the defect, collecting evidence, and working with field experts, we can build an effective legal strategy to get you and your family the compensation you deserve.

Wrongful Death Lawyers

Your life changes when you lose a loved one in an accident. You may find yourself struggling financially while coping with the major emotional loss of a parent, partner, or child. While you will never forget your loved one, receiving financial compensation can help you maintain stability as you move forward.

Carr & Carr’s experienced attorneys can assist you in filing a wrongful death lawsuit if you have lost a loved one in an accident caused by someone else’s negligence. A successful claim against the at-fault party can give you and your dependents a financial safety net while you rebuild your lives, so speak to our compassionate wrongful death attorneys to learn more.
