The driver of a box truck recently fell asleep behind the wheel causing a horrific crash. The wreck is still under investigation, however the massive collision in Oklahoma County caused major damage and resulted in one fatality.
On Monday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m. Oklahoma Highway Patrol was called to the scene on westbound I-40 at Eastern Ave. Most drivers and passengers in the six-car pileup suffered only minor injuries, however, Alecia Buffington, 26, was rushed to OU Health in serious condition with head injuries. She was quickly rushed into surgery.
“I’m a strong Christian, but I’ll tell you what, when it’s your baby, it’s a whole different thing,” said Alecia’s mom, Susie Neash.
Tragically, Buffington died from injuries sustained in the crash on Saturday, June 19.
